MEGADETH Bassist 'Chompin' At The Bit' To Begin Laying Down Album Tracks
April 5, 2006New MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"I just returned from the Frankfurt MusikMesse trade show (the Euro version of the NAMM event held in the States every year). This was a prior engagement to joining with MEGADETH that I made with my bass guitar company Warwick. I can't tell you how cool it was to meet so many MEGADETH fans at the show (you know who you are) and what a great opportunity it was to jam for so many people who attended over the four day event. I'll admit that I was getting a little antsy to return and join up with Dave [Mustaine] and the brothers Drover to further prepare for the up-and-coming [album recording] sessions. I took a few demos with me to mull over and now, I'm just chompin' at the bit to get to it. So, without any further ado and hopefully not much more jet lag, I'll be rejoining my brothers soon in the studio and have at it."
MEGADETH's appearance at this year's Desert Rock 2006 festival on March 16 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates marked their debut performance with Lomenzo, who has previously played with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and WHITE LION, among others.
Lomenzo joined MEGADETH as the replacement for James MacDonough (ex-ICED EARTH),who was fired from the group on February 10, 2006 due to "personal differences."
